In this grand opening ceremony, various artists are already lined up for their performance that includes Shakira who will be performing the Fifa World Cup theme song entitled “Waka Waka” or This Time for Africa. She will be joined by fellow singers such as Alicia Keys, John Legend, Black Eyed Peas, etc. as they all grace the grand opening ceremony by performing a concert.
The first soccer game is scheduled to be held the next day, June 11, 2010 and the initial match goes to South Africa vs. Mexico who will be competing on exactly 4:00pm at the Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa. The next soccer match follows the same day between Uruguay and France to be held in Cape Town Stadium in South Africa at around 8:30pm. After that, succeeding schedule of soccer matches follows the next day for a span of one month until July 11, 2010.
